These covers are made from cast aluminum and provide added strength to the center of the transmission case, preventing trans oil seepage at the mating surface. The cooling fins on the covers double the surface area to 60.74 sq. in., which is an increase from the stock surface area of 30.62 sq. in. This larger surface area improves heat dissipation from the transmission fluid.
