The bearing cups are cold-formed, case-hardened, and precision ground for strength and durability. Nitrile seals protect against under-vehicle contaminants and retain grease effectively. Greasing is easy with drilled and tapped fitting holes and cross trunnions with large grease reservoirs and radial grease channels. The smooth surface of the cross trunnions, ground to a 15-25 RMS finish, prevents premature wear. The internal anti-drainback valve and thrust washer control lubrication flow and prevent dry startup.
