While this was done to enhance ride quality, it also exposed a downside, that is wheel hop. RAM's offering to fix this was the Power Hop Damper which is a shock absorber installed between the rear axle, and a cross member underneath the frame. Not all of these trucks had this installed from the factory. Fortunately for most, the provisions are there on many of the 2500 models even if not originally equipped with the PowerHop Damper.
